Ricky Anderson was a former amateur and professional boxing champion. Born in historic Africville, Nova Scotia his great boxing career spanned from 1974 to 1986. It was said he had the fastest, if not the quickest, fists in North America.
When the former two-time welterweight champion retired from the ring in 1987, winning was a subject he knew intimately. As he pursued a university education, worked as a TV sportscaster and drug prevention specialist, and gained notoriety as a motivational speaker and author (Win In The Arena Of Life) inspiring others to win became his passion.
The Gentleman Ricky Anderson as he was affectionately known during his boxing career is a proud member of both the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame and the NS Sport Hall of Fame.
